Kathryn Hahn on Good Hang with Amy Poehler

The Hang, in Short

Amy confesses she's been keeping her laptop open this whole time just to look like she's fact-checking, but she's never actually used it. Bill Simmons told her to lose the laptop for better conversation flow, and Kathryn immediately backs Amy up: screw it, it's your podcast. They bond over loving messy, mid-process creative work rather than well-oiled machines. Patti LuPone Zooms in while applying "slap" (theater makeup) before attending an opera with a senior citizen special dinner at 5:30. She snort-laughs describing Kathryn on the Agatha set as fearless, generous, and deeply goofy. Patti suggests Amy ask Kathryn about directing so she can get hired. The vibe is loose and loving, with Amy still figuring out her podcast format while Kathryn cheers her on.

now uh I don't know what that means i'm

  53. 2:19

gonna say Okay haha okay thanks so much

  54. 2:24

okay this is fun so I don't know what

  55. 2:26

putting on slap means it either means

  56. 2:27

she's slapping on makeup or that's some

  57. 2:30

kind of Broadway term there you are wait

  58. 2:33

is that a term putting slap on yeah slap

  59. 2:36

is a an expression from for makeup yeah

  60. 2:39

putting slap on h i love you daddy

  61. 2:44

i love you too darling let me just put a

  62. 2:46

little more slap on so what are you

  63. 2:49

doing these days singing are you Yeah

  64. 2:53

are you Do you have a show tonight no I

  65. 2:54

  66. 2:56

tonight is um an opera you're attending

  67. 2:59

    it or you're singing no I'm I'm

  68. 3:02

attending it um my friend um is taking

  69. 3:05

me Let me just get the eye shadow on

  70. 3:07

darling who can talk when you're you

  71. 3:08

know putting eye shadow on but I'll try

  72. 3:10

uh my friend that wrote it is here

  73. 3:12

because it just premiered and we're

  74. 3:13

    going to the senior citizen

  75. 3:16

special he's calling it dinner at

  76. 3:20

5:30 the opera starts at 7 and it's

  77. 3:24

three hours long and so we're going to

  78. 3:26

go and have dinner at the Met and which

  79. 3:28

is very exciting it's very you know you

  80. 3:30

feel like you're in I don't know another

  81. 3:33

dimension when you go into the

  82. 3:34

Metropolitan Opera House but it's pretty

  83. 3:36

incredible just to watch the people that

  84. 3:38

show up and how they're dressed and how

  85. 3:41

they act darl I'm ready for you oh you

  86. 3:46

    look fantastic

  87. 3:48

i look hideous but thank you

  88. 3:52

but let's talk about Catherine okay

  89. 3:54

let's talk about Catherine so today's

  90. 3:56

episode we're talking to Katherine we're

  91. 3:58

doing this fun thing where we're kind of

  92. 3:59

    talking behind people's backs before

  93. 4:01

they come in just to kind of hear more

  94. 4:04

perspective about them and what what you

  95. 4:08

think I should ask her or you know what

  96. 4:10

you'd be interested in hearing her talk

  97. 4:12

about and tell me how like you how you

  98. 4:16

met and your your relationship with her

  99. 4:20

    well we met on Agatha

  100. 4:22

um at the table reads basically um

  101. 4:26

Katherine because she was the leading

  102. 4:29

lady was incredibly generous and incred

  103. 4:32

    incredibly open and incredibly inclusive

  104. 4:35

and embraced I think the responsibility

  105. 4:38

of a leading lady and that's you know

  106. 4:41

that comes without fear basically um and

  107. 4:44

she was fearless and generous and and

  108. 4:48

one of my favorite things about her is

  109. 4:50

    she snorts when she laughs

  110. 4:53

so you know she's having a good time

  111. 4:56

    she's a big laugher she's a big laugher

  112. 4:59

but but when you get to

  113. 5:01

    snort something was really

  114. 5:05

funny and that's you know one of her

  115. 5:08

best qualities her snort she is a real

  116. 5:12

mix of a a a very poised and serious

  117. 5:17

dramatic actor and deeply goofy yeah

  118. 5:21

very very funny um and doesn't take it

  119. 5:25

seriously which is great you know what I

  120. 5:27

mean i'm going to ask her about this but

  121. 5:28

I want to ask you too i mean the

  122. 5:30

response uh has been huge for Agatha

  123. 5:33

    it's everywhere it's viral Tik Toks it's

  124. 5:37

people waiting for you at the airport

  125. 5:39

like the the way you get this

  126. 5:43

giant huge new group of people who know

  127. 5:46

you and know your work what has that

  128. 5:48

been like i don't have the kind of

  129. 5:50

response that Katherine has gotten i

  130. 5:51

mean in in I know that it's so it's so

  131. 5:55

weird because because I do so many

  132. 5:57

different things people some people know

  133. 5:59

that I sing and do Broadway musicals and

  134. 6:02

some people know me from Steven's

  135. 6:03

Universe and some people know me from

  136. 6:05

Life Goes On and some people know me

  137. 6:06

from Agatha for Agatha and the ones I've

  138. 6:08

been getting more more fan mail about

  139. 6:11

Agatha and um which is great because who

  140. 6:16

would think that I would end up in the

  141. 6:18

    Marvel

  142. 6:21

universe knowing nothing about it and

  143. 6:23

choose to remain that way knowing

  144. 6:26

nothing about it any ideas of what I

  145. 6:28

could ask Katherine today like any

  146. 6:30

    questions

  147. 6:32

ask her if she's ever thought about

  148. 6:34

directing and would she cast me

  149. 6:38

i'm just curious to know whether she

  150. 6:40

would want to direct and of course I I

  151. 6:42

    need to get

  152. 6:44

hired and I think she you know she would

  153. 6:46

be a riot behind the camera i think you

  154. 6:49

know they'd have to take take after take

  155. 6:51

if it was funny and she snorted i think

  156. 6:53

she'd be a great director i think she

  157. 6:54

would be a great director agree all

  158. 6:56

right love you Patty thank you so much

  159. 6:59

  184. 7:56

you so much thank you for being on Good

  185. 7:57

Hang so happy to be here i love you you

  186. 7:59

know I've only done a few episodes so

  187. 8:00

far this is very new and I got a note um

  188. 8:04

recently from the great Bill Simmons who

  189. 8:07

is kind of like uh I guess my boss and

  190. 8:11

but um he is uh so good at podcasting

  191. 8:15

and is has created an empire and and has

  192. 8:19

allowed me to come and do it and he said

  193. 8:20

"Lose the ringer." And he said "Lose the

  194. 8:23

    laptop."

  195. 8:25

Why oh just so it's like more

  196. 8:27

conversational I guess why do you I just

  197. 8:29

before I do I just want to audition it

  198. 8:31

one more time how do you feel about it

  199. 8:33

listen I think that that's fine for him

  200. 8:36

if he doesn't need one but if you need

  201. 8:39

one screw it this is your podcast well I

  202. 8:42

want to say to you and Bill that I like

  203. 8:45

to look things up on here it does take

  204. 8:47

    me a long time

  205. 8:51

it does take me You're fact-checking as

  206. 8:53

it's going on i think that's good well

  207. 8:56

that I kind of was joking that I had it

  208. 8:58

to just make it seem like I was

  209. 9:00

factecking but I'm Have you ever used it

  210. 9:03

okay okay okay if it's just there for

  211. 9:05

    evidence

  212. 9:07

    maybe I was just

  213. 9:09

watching you i just have to catch up on

  214. 9:11

    the pit

  215. 9:16

wait is that is that the medical

  216. 9:19

procedural okay great with the guy who's

  217. 9:21

already been on a medical procedural

  218. 9:23

okay great it's supposed to be great

  219. 9:25

it's so good okay I gotta get into it

  220. 9:27

that's what I want to talk about today

  221. 9:28

okay good just kidding okay well I want

  222. 9:30

to talk about Paradise dr carter aka

  223. 9:33

Noah Wy is now in a new show which is

  224. 9:35

nothing like ER but I'm a huge ER fan

  225. 9:38

but the pit is so because Bill told me

  226. 9:40

to get rid of the laptop I'm going to

  227. 9:42

put it in half mass good

  228. 9:46

and then if I need it I I do feel like I

  229. 9:49

want to I want to watch something with

  230. 9:50

you today keep it there okay yeah half

  231. 9:53

    masked

  232. 9:56

okay don't close it but I But Bill I

  233. 9:59

hear you and I I appreciate the the

  234. 10:01

because it looks love and I I have to

  235. 10:05

say I'm still trying to figure out the

  236. 10:07

process of this so I so appreciate you

  237. 10:09

coming in midprocess i'm so I love

  238. 10:12

mid-process you do i do i do because

  239. 10:15

it's still figuring itself out so I I

  240. 10:18

    like it i don't like I It's better it's

  241. 10:21

    more interesting than a welloiled

  242. 10:22

    machine

  243. 10:24

tell me more about that because you're

  244. 10:25

so you do you I love that about you is

  245. 10:28

you love the the the messy middle of

  246. 10:31

stuff i do because it's like a there is

  247. 10:33

like a little on your toes

  248. 10:36

um feeling of of of growth that's

  249. 10:41

happening while you're in it and that

  250. 10:43

always feels like super chargy to me if

  251. 10:45

    it's like I don't know it's more like

  252. 10:48

sometimes it's good and like you know

  253. 10:51

that you're gonna hit this this and this

  254. 10:52

but I I love conversations and I think

  255. 10:55

and I know you do too that are like a

  256. 10:56

little not so prescribed at the

  257. 10:59

beginning you're so good at them you're

  258. 11:01

you're you're really really good at um

  259. 11:04

hanging in uh yeah it's what makes you

  260. 11:08

such a good person and friend but and

  261. 11:10

also such a good actor is you you can

  262. 11:13

like tolerate the in between which few I

  263. 11:16

    don't know if I can I'm learning I'm

  264. 11:18

    learning yes it is uncomfortable

  265. 11:21

sometime sometimes depending on what it

  266. 11:23

it really is but just to sit in it and

  267. 11:26

let it like I'm not talking about a

  268. 11:28

podcast but like life or like schmacking

  269. 11:31

yeah it's definitely like that in that

  270. 11:33

kind of like uncomfortableness I think

  271. 11:35

    is

  272. 11:37

um like like the time that you're going

  273. 11:39

to be surprised did you know that let me

  274. 11:41

see if you can guess how many times how

  275. 11:43

many episodes of Parks you did do you do

  276. 11:45

you would you know to guess i would

  277. 11:48

say between seven and 13 yeah 10 10 okay

  278. 11:54

between seven and 13 that was my It's

  279. 11:58

kind of right between that's amazing

  280. 12:01

but it was such a huge impact on my life

  281. 12:04

like it's still the thing I get most

  282. 12:06

recognized for really yes and I just

  283. 12:09

remember Well first of all you were the

  284. 12:11

most incredible number one on a call

  285. 12:12

sheet because you had dance parties at

  286. 12:15

lunch every day and anybody that walked

  287. 12:18

on that like set just was filled with

  288. 12:21

such confidence and such joy which is I

  289. 12:25

had the greatest time on that show i

  290. 12:28

have such I don't have the greatest

  291. 12:30

that's where we kind of fell in love but

  292. 12:31

that is re that's really Katherine where

  293. 12:33

we I think actually met my first kind of

  294. 12:36

like real memory is in the trailer of

  295. 12:38

parks and wreck and we used to Katherine

  296. 12:41

is talking about dance parties and we

  297. 12:44

used to do a thing where just like after

  298. 12:45

lunch we would play three songs best the

  299. 12:48

great Autumn Butler our makeup artist

  300. 12:50

had great taste in music and we would

  301. 12:52

just kind of dance around for two or

  302. 12:54

three songs yeah the best i think for me

  303. 12:56

a way to honestly just keep my energy up

  304. 12:59

but it became a way to meet people in

  305. 13:02

the trailer and I remember two things I

  306. 13:04

loved about you right away how much you

  307. 13:06

love to laugh people that know you know

  308. 13:08

that like you you love to laugh if

  309. 13:11

someone's going to break in the scene

  310. 13:13

it's this professional over here you

  311. 13:15

know you I don't Do you think you break

  312. 13:17

a I have to be really serious in my mind

  313. 13:20

like if I have because if it starts to

  314. 13:22

    happen it is tears

  315. 13:25

and mucus but you I have seen you in

  316. 13:28

bloopers and you're hanging in yeah I do

  317. 13:31

hang in you hang in i do yeah you in

  318. 13:34

fact go in harder i think when people

  319. 13:36

    are like I have to I know it's a

  320. 13:38

survival technique i just have to dig in

  321. 13:40

a little bit i do i go harder i feel

  322. 13:43

like every time I've done a scene with

  323. 13:45

you you are so good at improvising in

  324. 13:48

fact like a lot of your character on

  325. 13:51

Parks and Rec Jen Barklay's moments were

  326. 13:53

improvised were they really well my one

  327. 13:57

of the favorites one of one of Tik Tok

  328. 13:59

and memes and gifts and just poncho his

  329. 14:01

poncho yeah poncho was So let's talk

  330. 14:03

about what happened for people that have

  331. 14:05

never seen that what what is it what

  332. 14:07

tell us what that scene was well I went

  333. 14:09

to Ben and Leslie's house um I'm

  334. 14:12

speaking as Jen Barkley my character i'm

  335. 14:14

first person now well for people that

  336. 14:15

    aren't watching she just transformed

  337. 14:17

just transform her eyes turned dark and

  338. 14:19

    she's a completely different person a

  339. 14:20

    lot more

  340. 14:21

hairspray i went to their house they

  341. 14:24

have children uh I am not into children

  342. 14:26

at all i wore a plastic poncho so that I

  343. 14:32

wouldn't get any sticky fingers or crap

  344. 14:34

all over me and at some point the kids

  345. 14:37

rush by with paint nail me with the

  346. 14:40

paint and at some take just to make you

  347. 14:42

guys laugh i don't even did not have any

  348. 14:44

idea it was gonna be any i just swung my

  349. 14:47

arms open i went poncho poncho and that

  350. 14:51

really has become it has it's like

  351. 14:53

    Batman's cape

  352. 14:56

i mean that was the best like I just

  353. 14:59

wanting to make you guys laugh and just

  354. 15:01

having so the the energy is so loose so

  355. 15:03

I like it's funny you say that

  356. 15:05

improvising again i can do it if I know

  357. 15:07

who I am and like the given

  358. 15:09

circumstances and like that I feel like

  359. 15:12

I feel really free in that department

  360. 15:14

just well you know how like we we were

  361. 15:17

on set a lot and I would watch you work

  362. 15:18

and I would say the same thing about

  363. 15:19

Adam and I wonder too if it's because of

  364. 15:22

your both of your training but I would

  365. 15:25

    watch the way you two

  366. 15:27

worked and you would have a moment where

  367. 15:32

we you'd stay really really loose and

  368. 15:35

but just right before the scene and I

  369. 15:37

can think of a couple scenes the great

  370. 15:38

scene where Jen Barkley is telling

  371. 15:41

Leslie no basically you know you have to

  372. 15:44

start oh you have to start thinking

  373. 15:46

bigger which is a huge moment in the

  374. 15:48

show i love the writing and that's Mike

  375. 15:51

Sher and the writers like I just love

  376. 15:53

how they slowly took care of Leslie and

  377. 15:56

they sent people in to give her these

  378. 15:59

messages and Jen Barkley is just this

  379. 16:03

like Gen X yes um ballbuster yes who who

  380. 16:08

kind of sees something that Leslie

  381. 16:10

doesn't anyway in that moment when

  382. 16:11

you're giving that speech I remember

  383. 16:13

very clearly right before the scene you

  384. 16:16

just took a moment and I think we joked

  385. 16:19

    about it later because

  386. 16:21

I was like it was like

  387. 16:23

watching it was watching a a real actor

  388. 16:27

    oh god

  389. 16:29

just staying one more second on parks

  390. 16:31

because I do think that um it it was

  391. 16:35

such a formative time in my life

  392. 16:37

obviously for many reasons and one of

  393. 16:38

    them was meeting you is

  394. 16:41

what I always use that us as an example

  395. 16:44

of is that you never know who you have

  396. 16:47

yet to meet no yeah i think you know

  397. 16:51

    when you're in your 40s there's this

  398. 16:53

feeling that you've pretty much you have

  399. 16:55

your old friends your high school

  400. 16:56

friends you have maybe a partner and

  401. 16:58

their friends you have your kid mom

  402. 17:00

friends college yeah college yeah you

  403. 17:03

have like this all these different

  404. 17:04

groups of friends and you think I think

  405. 17:05

I've met everybody that's going to be my

  406. 17:07

close friends i have I I know because

  407. 17:11

    sometimes those friends become just

  408. 17:13

family you know what I mean as everybody

  409. 17:15

grows and changes and like people

  410. 17:18

there's there and so in my life always

  411. 17:21

always but we are very different people

  412. 17:23

I don't know what you know and you're

  413. 17:26

right there are people like I think even

  414. 17:29

I've been in a lot lot of projects where

  415. 17:32

you get like intimate really fast and

  416. 17:34

everybody says goodbye but then there

  417. 17:36

are certain people where you I didn't

  418. 17:39

anticipate this like I did that was the

  419. 17:41

the one of the pleasures for me too is

  420. 17:43

like I did not anticipate that you would

  421. 17:46

want to continue to be my friend after

  422. 17:48

we did it and then the fact that it's

  423. 17:51

gotten like deeper and deeper I'm like

  424. 17:53

now I don't know how to do it i mean

  425. 17:55

like I am so grateful for you in my life

  426. 17:57

we've like we've been in the trenches

  427. 18:00

we've been in the trenches yeah we have

  428. 18:02

we have like we've been through a lot of

  429. 18:04

    tough times together

  430. 18:06

we've been very honest with each other

  431. 18:08

    yeah we've like I think we've

  432. 18:11

really like taken great pains to see

  433. 18:14

    each other

  434. 18:16

like we're make it a priority and I mean

  435. 18:18

I know how I feel about how important

  436. 18:21

that is for me but what what how what

  437. 18:24

how are female friendships important to

  438. 18:25

you what do they do for you i think the

  439. 18:27

the real female friends that I have the

  440. 18:30

deep ones are fewer than I thought I

  441. 18:32

would have like the ones that are really

  442. 18:34

you know have your back through anything

  443. 18:38

    and there's a difference like these it's

  444. 18:41

    so important to

  445. 18:44

have women in your life that aren't

  446. 18:48

family to grow old with in a way that

  447. 18:53

it's like you said feels very honest but

  448. 18:56

and also hilarious but also doesn't feel

  449. 18:59

like we have to keep up any anything

  450. 19:01

together like keep up any sort of like

  451. 19:04

front it just feels like and also very

  452. 19:06

affirming like to walk into these next

  453. 19:09

chapters together just feels like it's

  454. 19:10

not as terrifying yes the witch's road

  455. 19:14

the witch's road the coven yes coven on

  456. 19:19

coven yes yes that's why I mean I that

  457. 19:23

is why when I watched that show when I

  458. 19:25

watched Agatha all along um uh that was

  459. 19:29

it was so moving you just to get

  460. 19:32

basically you must hold hands with

  461. 19:34

someone to go into the next step and

  462. 19:35

let's be honest our female friendships

  463. 19:37

and relationships are going to you know

  464. 19:39

with the exception maybe our sibling

  465. 19:41

    relationships will probably last the

  466. 19:42

longest i know they will and I think

  467. 19:44

with my dear dearest women friends of

  468. 19:47

which there are very few that that is

  469. 19:50

such a source of comfort just to be

  470. 19:51

heard by another woman yes without

  471. 19:55

judgment without like anything but just

  472. 19:59

um love i know i feel you u speaking of

  473. 20:03

other women um yeah so we do this thing

  474. 20:07

uh where we ask people before we have a

  475. 20:10

guest to um chat about the guests so

  476. 20:13

like I kind of like wanted I want to

  477. 20:15

like and we got Patty Leone no you did

  478. 20:18

    not yes

  479. 20:20

    oh my god

  480. 20:23

I was so excited the wolf patty the wolf

  481. 20:28

    the wolf

  482. 20:30

leone of course the wolf of course

  483. 20:34

oh my god i'm This is going to be the

  484. 20:36

best well first of all what if it was

  485. 20:39

    like

  486. 20:43

Well she can't sing but yeah not

  487. 20:46

talented um no she she's so great isn't

  488. 20:50

she i know uh talk about you know a new

  489. 20:54

friend that I want to I mean I feel like

  490. 20:55

I keep I have to stop telling her our I

  491. 20:58

I have to stop asking her if we're

  492. 21:00

friends i just have to start believing

  493. 21:01

that we are but um anyway oh doll call

  494. 21:04

everyone doll but you're right to have

  495. 21:06

someone that is like in a different

  496. 21:08

stage of our lives that you can that is

  497. 21:12

    so real

  498. 21:14

very important i I don't know about you

  499. 21:16

but I get very comfortable around Yes

  500. 21:19

older women who are very bossy um

  501. 21:23

because I get very relaxed yeah we're in

  502. 21:27

good hands we're in good hands and the

  503. 21:29

the few times that I've hung out with

  504. 21:31

Patty like she's like "We're going for a

  505. 21:32

walk." and she tells me what to buy and

  506. 21:34

    and it's

  507. 21:37

just Okay so tell me about about how you

  508. 21:41

was was Agatha the first time you met

  509. 21:43

her oh yeah okay um and I remember when

  510. 21:46

they said it was Patty Leon I was like

  511. 21:48

"No." And then we I met her at the first

  512. 21:50

table read and she just came in with so

  513. 21:53

many questions which of course like she

  514. 21:57

knew nothing about Marvel i barely know

  515. 21:58

anything about Marvel so she was like

  516. 22:00

"Okay." A and it was just all of these

  517. 22:02

very detailed questions but then she

  518. 22:04

just forgot and it didn't matter like

  519. 22:06

she was she'll stay she'll still be like

  520. 22:08

I don't know anything about Marvel she

  521. 22:10

did she she told us that she did she

  522. 22:12

said well I don't know anything about

  523. 22:13

which I love i mean and also

  524. 22:18

and she said you guys met at the table

  525. 22:20

read and Agatha was a really big circus

  526. 22:23

to lead oh yes and you had to do a lot

  527. 22:27

of big stuff on there it was a lot of

  528. 22:30

swinging oh my gosh so much you know uh

  529. 22:33

if if one is to believe that acting is a

  530. 22:36

little embarrassing oh right you had to

  531. 22:38

do so much stuff incred birthing scenes

  532. 22:41

and crazy stuff and holding hands and

  533. 22:44

singing yes so much incredible stuff yes

  534. 22:48

but like walking the razor's edge cuz we

  535. 22:50

knew if it went one way or the other it

  536. 22:52

could be like "Oh wow." And America

  537. 22:54

voted and it worked america voted for if

  538. 22:57

Tik Tok voted tik Tok is my government

  539. 23:00

okay i know i got to get on Tik Tok it's

  540. 23:04

    It's I think it's wrapping up oh I know

  541. 23:06

it's my perfect timing as usual still my

  542. 23:09

AOL it's like me and podcast i'm like

  543. 23:10

"Let me get in there." And everyone's

  544. 23:12

like "Now?" I'm like "Yep." Right before

  545. 23:14

the door closes but just for a second

  546. 23:17

what was it like to be on such a big

  547. 23:19

show making having to make really big

  548. 23:21

choices with all these incredibly big

  549. 23:24

personalities and people it was just it

  550. 23:26

must have been something we were all

  551. 23:28

there was no trailers to go back to

  552. 23:30

really because we were kind of far away

  553. 23:32

always so we would set up like a little

  554. 23:34

coven of our chairs in a circle so like

  555. 23:36

all of our crew chairs would be in a

  556. 23:38

circle and you could just hear us

  557. 23:40

cackling like the whole like I mean we

  558. 23:42

just laughed and Patty had a boom box

  559. 23:44

and she would get up and like dance or

  560. 23:46

start singing and we would all be like

  561. 23:49

like it's coming out of her mouth right

  562. 23:50

now so Patty wanted me to ask you two

  563. 23:52

questions well first she said she loves

  564. 23:54

your snort and we already got it we

  565. 23:57

already got it once i thought like it's

  566. 23:59

not as cute anymore but I'm still comes

  567. 24:01

out i mean you're talking to a person

  568. 24:03

that laughs like a I've been described

  569. 24:06

as a raven when a raven when someone

  570. 24:09

    runs over a raven's foot that's how

  571. 24:12

somebody described my laugh one time so

  572. 24:14

    I mean I don't know what you're talking

  573. 24:15

about it's the greatest laugh but ever

  574. 24:18

it's just I have a very witchy laugh too

  575. 24:20

and you have a very witchy laugh and a

  576. 24:22

very You do and it's a cackle and a very

  577. 24:26

    devious laugh sometimes it is

  578. 24:30

it's a little cat that hit the mouth it

  579. 24:33

I just love it so much cuz it it's like

  580. 24:35

    a little

  581. 24:36

    devious and then huge caggles

  582. 24:40

and you have a great laugh too like you

  583. 24:42

laugh with your whole body i do you like

  584. 24:45

I do oh there she goes but I really do i

  585. 24:48

do i love a good laugh god me too have

  586. 24:51

you always been that way was that Where

  587. 24:53

did Where like Have you always been that

  588. 24:55

kind of person that loved a good laugh

  589. 24:56

in high school it started for sure and

  590. 24:59

then I was like you know I went to an

  591. 25:00

all girls Catholic school so we had like

  592. 25:02

a I mean that group was constantly

  593. 25:04

making fun of the nuns and so I was just

  594. 25:07

like crying all the time just crying all

  595. 25:11

the time just like h just floating maxi

  596. 25:15

pads in like the s in like Mary's pond

  597. 25:19

like there's like a statue of Mary and

  598. 25:20

we just like and the nuns would be like

  599. 25:22

okay so there are maxi pads floating in

  600. 25:26

the it was like always fit like that

  601. 25:28

just like fun church giggle stuff stupid

  602. 25:30

like you'd open up a locker and there'd

  603. 25:32

be like a huge dick the pop would pop

  604. 25:34

out on a spring like we were very first

  605. 25:37

my theory that Catholic school girls

  606. 25:39

were a so bad they were so bad but

  607. 25:43

because everything was you know uniforms

  608. 25:46

and there was like church every week and

  609. 25:47

it all felt like I don't know if I

  610. 25:48

believe in any of this yeah and then B

  611. 25:51

they were just like really ready to go

  612. 25:54

really ready to go oh I was like "Let's

  613. 25:57

go let's go." And they were I was like

  614. 25:58

"Any takers any takers?" And there was

  615. 26:00

    not takers

  616. 26:02

i was like "Hey horny so horny." And I

  617. 26:05

    was like

  618. 26:07

"Okay." I was like "Is it my overplucked

  619. 26:11

eyebrows what's what's happening is it

  620. 26:14

my Catholic school uniform that my mom

  621. 26:16

thought I was going to gain maybe or

  622. 26:18

like seven dress sizes but I was

  623. 26:20

literally like kids would go down and

  624. 26:22

see my skirt and just pull it off me

  625. 26:24

like in school so we had to wear boxers

  626. 26:28

oh yeah boxers were a big deal that Wait

  627. 26:30

it was an all girls school yeah and they

  628. 26:31

were pancing you pancing me skirting you

  629. 26:35

in in I did go to co-ed Catholic

  630. 26:39

elementary school and we would have

  631. 26:40

something called Friday flipup day so we

  632. 26:43

knew to wear boxers because on Friday

  633. 26:45

all the guys ran around and flipped up

  634. 26:47

your skirt oh my god yes and Thursday

  635. 26:49

throw up day Wednesday wedding day i

  636. 26:52

don't know what Tuesday or Monday was

  637. 26:54

after flip up your skirt and back then

  638. 26:56

we were like the price of being a girl

  639. 26:58

it is we were like "Oh we better get

  640. 27:00

prepared." We were like "Maybe someone

  641. 27:02

will flip up my skirt today." So [ __ ]

  642. 27:06

    up so [ __ ] up so [ __ ] up and and the

  643. 27:09

teachers were like "If you guys are

  644. 27:10

doing the flip up keep it outside of

  645. 27:13

class i want to know about it." And then

  646. 27:15

I remember some guy some kid I was in

  647. 27:17

sixth grade called me gorilla legs cuz I

  648. 27:19

    haven't shave I hadn't shaved my legs

  649. 27:21

yet and I was like horrified by that so

  650. 27:24

I went home and I tried to shave and it

  651. 27:26

was like a cheese grater it was like I

  652. 27:28

could see a curl of my skin before it

  653. 27:30

started bleeding and I was like what oh

  654. 27:32

I still have scars oh no i didn't know

  655. 27:35

how to do it i went rogue with my dad's

  656. 27:37

shaver in the tub oh no cuz of that

  657. 27:40

stupid boy it was that stupid boy i know

  658. 27:44

i had a stupid boy tell me one time that

  659. 27:45

I look like a frog that my face looked

  660. 27:47

like a frog and I just I still think

  661. 27:49

about it i mean I still remember i just

  662. 27:51

remember being like well I Yeah but you

  663. 27:54

just get that thing where you're like

  664. 27:55

well I guess I'll live the life of a

  665. 27:57

frog then like you just immediately like

  666. 27:59

well if one boy thinks it that then it

  667. 28:02

shall be so then it shall be so yeah

  668. 28:04

yeah I guess well I'll be they'll just

  669. 28:06

flip up my skirt and I'll wear my boxers

  670. 28:08

and shave my legs in the bathtub and

  671. 28:11

wear have a face like a frog i mean it's

  672. 28:14

    horrible it's horrible the [ __ ] I got

  673. 28:16

for my nose my whole life really for the

  674. 28:19

size of your nose yes and that I had

  675. 28:22

    such

  676. 28:23

a such a like thing about it that I was

  677. 28:25

    like when I'm 18 I'm getting a nose job

  678. 28:28

and now I'm so glad that I did it no

  679. 28:30

yeah and now I love my nose i just think

  680. 28:32

people should know that you have never

  681. 28:34

gotten any plastic surgery not that

  682. 28:36

there's anything wrong with that but I

  683. 28:37

just think but I think also we I feel

  684. 28:39

that way with you like it's a time this

  685. 28:43

is a treacherous moment where you're

  686. 28:44

like have to leave behind all that

  687. 28:47

    currency that I really didn't I wasn't

  688. 28:49

listen I wasn't like that was my that

  689. 28:51

wasn't my my currency in this business

  690. 28:54

was never like same which I think is

  691. 28:56

helpful going forward because it's not

  692. 28:59

but yeah I'm like but now you're now

  693. 29:02

you've gotten into mother phase your

  694. 29:03

mother Han now I have mother Han Because

  695. 29:05

honestly this is my Instagram thing that

  696. 29:07

my I haven't used since in the first

  697. 29:09

fight i kind of petered out on the

  698. 29:11

dumbest one i just haven't done it again

  699. 29:14

i put it on my computer and yeah I

  700. 29:17

    haven't posted literally it's the

  701. 29:19

dumbest last one i know you don't know

  702. 29:20

what it is but it was just petered out

  703. 29:23

and um we tried my daughter tried to

  704. 29:25

find a name for me or like whatever

  705. 29:28

handle is that what it's called yeah I

  706. 29:30

think so and we couldn't find anything

  707. 29:33

with my name and then we saw motherhan

  708. 29:36

lowercase and I was like oh that's funny

  709. 29:38

and she was like you know the other

  710. 29:40

connotations though and I was like yeah

  711. 29:42

fine I'll be cute but then it has really

  712. 29:45

a very it does have a very specific um

  713. 29:49

like following which I love well that's

  714. 29:52

what I'm saying is there's this amazing

  715. 29:54

moment that's happening for you in

  716. 29:55

general where you know people that have

  717. 29:57

loved your work now for 20 years are

  718. 30:00

seeing you get this kind of next level

  719. 30:03

of um recognition and you know all that

  720. 30:06

comes with like the Marvel machine yes

  721. 30:08

and there is this also celebration at

  722. 30:12

the same time led primarily by gay men

  723. 30:15

but not just gay men and young gay women

  724. 30:17

young gay women who love the lesbian

  725. 30:19

kiss that you had on Agatha with her

  726. 30:21

beautiful Aubrey Plaza like that are

  727. 30:25

deciding to just like be like mother and

  728. 30:29

that feels like you're being anointed

  729. 30:30

which I'm like it's Ann Braftoft in the

  730. 30:33

graduate like that's what it feels like

  731. 30:35

there's like a cougary vibe yes instead

  732. 30:38

but I also think that there's kind of

  733. 30:39

    like a

  734. 30:41

    cuz I don't I mean that's not who I am

  735. 30:43

but I guess it also means

  736. 30:45

like I don't No what does What do you

  737. 30:47

think it means like teacher i think it's

  738. 30:49

like a way Yes it's like a way to

  739. 30:52

    compliment someone's

  740. 30:56

wisdom and fortitude without making them

  741. 30:59

while still making them feel sexy

  742. 31:01

there's something that feels sexy about

  743. 31:04

it because it's very dom it's very like

  744. 31:07

she will crush you like it's a little

  745. 31:09

    bit like mother right

  746. 31:12

um maybe you should have your Instagram

  747. 31:14

should have been you should have tried

  748. 31:16

to spell that out but but also there's a

  749. 31:19

reverence to it like a respect there's

  750. 31:21

    like a there's like a loving respect i I

  751. 31:23

again someone else could probably break

  752. 31:25

down the etmology and what it really

  753. 31:26

means and we all know where it comes

  754. 31:28

back it goes back to like the houses and

  755. 31:31

you know like all the queer culture back

  756. 31:34

who are creating their own community and

  757. 31:36

family i love it i It moves me so much

  758. 31:40

me too and it's and it's it's just

  759. 31:42

    there's some something that's happening

  760. 31:44

right now I'm noticing in real time

  761. 31:46

where women our age in our 50s in our

  762. 31:49

business used to kind of just be uh on

  763. 31:52

the way out for the most part there were

  764. 31:54

a few but a lot of them were not really

  765. 31:57

regarded by young people as being vital

  766. 31:59

Yes producers of things yeah and that is

  767. 32:02

changing it's kind of it is changing i

  768. 32:05

never liked milk i hated Mil me too why

  769. 32:09

do we hate it well because it's a porn

  770. 32:12

term probably by a lot of young by a lot

  771. 32:15

of young men that have a fetish for

  772. 32:18

    [ __ ] older women yeah i never mothers

  773. 32:21

yeah and also I didn't like it cuz it

  774. 32:22

    was like "Oh you'll still [ __ ] them."

  775. 32:25

Yes uh let me check they don't want to

  776. 32:28

    [ __ ] in

  777. 32:30

i just checked gut check gut check butt

  778. 32:33

check and gut check butt check it's not

  779. 32:35

happening for you too it's like "Oh

  780. 32:37

great." I know it was like well I've had

  781. 32:40

a couple mils and it's like oh god maybe

  782. 32:43

we don't like it too because it sounds

  783. 32:44

like milk yeah maybe maybe because Yeah

  784. 32:48

but it's it just feels like it's from

  785. 32:49

the dude's point of view in like a gross

  786. 32:51

porny way yeah mother feels a little bit

  787. 32:54

more uh you respect it and it feels

  788. 32:57

more gay adjacent queer adjacent so it

  789. 33:00

feels a little Yeah um which I love so

  790. 33:03

much i love it so much i love the very

  791. 33:07

young queer women that are um felt

  792. 33:11

really like loved Agatha all along like

  793. 33:14

that was such a huge part of our

  794. 33:16

audience that was very very moving i

  795. 33:19

mean you were the first gay Marvel kiss

  796. 33:22

    right i a queer Marvel kiss i don't know

  797. 33:25

i think I have a piece of paper let me

  798. 33:27

    see

  799. 33:29

yep it's not on the Yeah oh yes yeah

  800. 33:32

yeah the first Marvel lesbian kiss

  801. 33:34

according to this paper that just flew

  802. 33:37

in hold on it just floated down from the

  803. 33:40

sky it's coming from the sky here we go

  804. 33:42

but yeah that it's pretty cool yeah

  805. 33:44

    that's cool yeah it's cool that's cool

  806. 33:46

and with Plaza so it just could not be

  807. 33:48

cooler i know i know our beautiful baby

  808. 33:50

plaza um uh what's going uh and I'm

  809. 33:54

aware of the as your as a therapist I'm

  810. 33:56

aware of the time it's 11:48 i am so

  811. 34:00

fine with that okay just letting you

  812. 34:01

    know cuz I want to

  813. 34:03

persect you have a long press day and so

  814. 34:06

I know you have to do a lot of talking

  815. 34:07

but and you have to eat wings you have

  816. 34:08

to you have to eat hot wings i'm so

  817. 34:10

    sorry I don't have wings i know I should

  818. 34:12

be prepping before the my diarrhea kicks

  819. 34:15

in do that wings thing and you have it

  820. 34:18

and you're like no I absolutely not i

  821. 34:20

because I hate milk so I don't know how

  822. 34:23

I'm going to do it be a disaster for me

  823. 34:24

no it's going to be someone said peanut

  824. 34:26

butter on toast beforehand line your

  825. 34:28

stomach the things we go through for

  826. 34:30

    purpose for no

  827. 34:31

reason what do we What do we have to do

  828. 34:34

    we have to line our

  829. 34:36

stomach how did this How did this happen

  830. 34:39

how are we now doing eating spicy things

  831. 34:42

the sp and spicier and spicier while

  832. 34:45

    being asked really interesting really

  833. 34:47

    interesting questions

  834. 34:49

really great questions but um but the

  835. 34:52

the way in which we're like I guess I

  836. 34:54

guess for this show I gotta have

  837. 34:56

diarrhea for four days for four days

  838. 34:58

ring a fire but I also there's something

  839. 35:01

about it that I was like yes because it

  840. 35:04

just felt so um so unique that it just

  841. 35:10

is a really good example of what we were

  842. 35:12

talking about earlier like you're like

  843. 35:13

this is going to be fun i'm into it

  844. 35:15

you're into the the lack of control yeah

  845. 35:19

and I'm like am I going to vomit am I

  846. 35:22

going to I don't know we actually do

  847. 35:25

that is actually Friday but I have a lot

  848. 35:28

other stuff to but I am so I have a

  849. 35:30

couple days to prep my stomach it's like

  850. 35:32

    a colonoscopy

  851. 35:34

i have to start eating but like in

  852. 35:36

reverse cuz I think I got to line it as

  853. 35:38

thick as possible so there's no way like

  854. 35:41

my throat down to my colon has to just

  855. 35:44

be lined with bread yogurt peanut butter

  856. 35:48

and just bread shoved in there show

  857. 35:51

business baby show business that's what

  858. 35:54

it's why we got into show business to do

  859. 35:56

stuff like that to just eat weird hot

  860. 35:58

stuff on camera for free for free um but

  861. 36:02

we were talking a little bit about the

  862. 36:04

like way in which you're getting

  863. 36:06

received like when you're out in public

  864. 36:08

    it's a little overwhelming sometimes

  865. 36:10

because of the fandom of it all like

  866. 36:12

    there's you're in a machine now that's

  867. 36:13

bigger than maybe some other ones and we

  868. 36:16

were kind of talking about that feeling

  869. 36:18

of like having to take on other people's

  870. 36:20

energy and how do you balance the

  871. 36:23

    introversion and extroversion part of

  872. 36:24

    what we do

  873. 36:31

    [Music]

  874. 36:34

    well please excuse her

  875. 36:39

    [Laughter]

  876. 36:42

    [Music]

  877. 36:47

okay oh god yeah that's a good answer

  878. 36:50

you know we were talking about hot ones

  879. 36:52

for a while you got all I need a Pepsi

  880. 36:56

    AC um okay fans

  881. 37:01

no it's you know you're I mean Marvel is

  882. 37:04

a totally different machine and I am so

  883. 37:06

rarely recognized in my life like you

  884. 37:10

know I just walk out like I don't think

  885. 37:13

about it so I'm like you know I had one

  886. 37:16

meal with Carrie Kenny Silver who I love

  887. 37:18

so much and she someone came up to our

  888. 37:20

table and was like sorry I have to tell

  889. 37:21

you I love you and I think it's so

  890. 37:23

hilarious you go out of the house

  891. 37:24

    looking like

  892. 37:27

this and I was like "Oh thank

  893. 37:30

    [Music]

  894. 37:32

you." Well my thing is when people go

  895. 37:35

"Can I tell you who you look like?" And

  896. 37:37

I'm always like "Please don't it is

  897. 37:40

never going to be great it's never going

  898. 37:41

to be great." Unless it's Scarjo or

  899. 37:43

something like it's never and it's And

  900. 37:46

it's also so It's always someone who is

  901. 37:49

at a hard 30 years older than who I am

  902. 37:52

which is fine but okay so let's talk

  903. 37:56

about Philly Justice before we talk

  904. 37:57

about the studio and then we'll be done

  905. 37:59

actually one of the most the thing I'm

  906. 38:00

almost the most proud of okay can you

  907. 38:02

explain to people what we're talking

  908. 38:03

about when we say Okay when we were

  909. 38:04

there was a a bunch of the parks and

  910. 38:07

wreck actors it was Paul Rudd you

  911. 38:12

    Rashidita

  912. 38:14

Adam and is that it yeah me uh we the

  913. 38:18

the original picture that Philly Justice

  914. 38:21

was born out of was me you Rashidita

  915. 38:23

Adam and Rudd and it was we had like

  916. 38:26

businessy outfits on i think we were

  917. 38:28

going to court or something or like so

  918. 38:30

all of us had like very businessy and I

  919. 38:33

don't know whose idea was it but we took

  920. 38:35

a um it was whose idea was it but we

  921. 38:39

were all in like kind of staggered

  922. 38:41

stairs and what looked like the front of

  923. 38:44

like a very um you know a courthouse we

  924. 38:47

we pretended we were on a fake TV show

  925. 38:50

in the '9s called Philly Justice or the

  926. 38:52

early 2000s and we all crossed our arms

  927. 38:55

then that became a text chain where we

  928. 38:57

started pretending that we were we were

  929. 39:00

just uh pretending we had been texting

  930. 39:02

each other like as the actors from it is

  931. 39:04

the pilot going to be picked up like we

  932. 39:07

were going to do like we were all very

  933. 39:08

excited it was like a David Kellyesque

  934. 39:10

show so there was like some cache it

  935. 39:13

wasn't like a shitty show right

  936. 39:16

katherine is playing like a a lawyer

  937. 39:18

question mark we don't know and um who

  938. 39:21

has a has a very tempestuous

  939. 39:24

    relationship with Angie Martinez played

  940. 39:26

by Rashidita Jones and we're not sure a

  941. 39:29

lot of past lot I mean I think you guys

  942. 39:32

    are lovers

  943. 39:37

amy please excuse her she knows not what

  944. 39:41

she's doing like um Robert Durst when

  945. 39:43

    he's guilty and he's he's every time I

  946. 39:48

sorry every time I bring up being your

  947. 39:50

lesbian tendencies you start burping and

  948. 39:52

    we're

  949. 39:55

like okay um but uh I mean I remember

  950. 39:59

thinking I can't believe how lucky I am

  951. 40:02

that I'm working with people who want to

  952. 40:05

also do this dumb thing yes like yes fun

  953. 40:08

dumb things to me are a love language

  954. 40:10

that's a way like it's like proves like

  955. 40:13

safety i guess that if you're relaxed

  956. 40:16

enough to do fun dumb things then you're

  957. 40:18

in the right place yeah and the more the

  958. 40:20

older and older I get I feel like just

  959. 40:24

want that yeah like nothing is that

  960. 40:26

important right um a great transition

  961. 40:29

    into your new show

  962. 40:31

and the studio but it is the studio is

  963. 40:34

fun though it is fun and you mentioned

  964. 40:36

Katherine O'Hara talk to us about the

  965. 40:38

show and the cast i mean Katherine

  966. 40:40

    O'Hara another goddess that I couldn't

  967. 40:42

believe we've only have a couple scenes

  968. 40:43

in it but I have gotten to know her like

  969. 40:45

through the press thing and she is like

  970. 40:47

we were saying like what I want to like

  971. 40:48

that's how I want to grow up yeah even

  972. 40:50

though she's you know basically my aunt

  973. 40:53

but she um is I mean on camera and not

  974. 40:56

off camera like just such a hu a good

  975. 40:59

egg and it's Seth Rogan and Evan

  976. 41:02

Goldberg seth stars in it and um they

  977. 41:05

both wrote all the episodes and directed

  978. 41:07

all the episodes with like one shot

  979. 41:09

they're all like wonders or some

  980. 41:11

invisible scenes wow i know but it's

  981. 41:14

    really incredible because we rehearsed

  982. 41:16

each scene like a play like we had to

  983. 41:18

rehearse it a gazillion times with the

  984. 41:20

camera and then know when the camera's

  985. 41:22

going to be on you and know like when to

  986. 41:23

get out of the way for the camera and

  987. 41:25

still like try to keep eye contact it

  988. 41:26

was a It was like a The challenges were

  989. 41:30

so fun and juicy and and also you knew

  990. 41:34

that if you [ __ ] up one line in it

  991. 41:36

you'd have to go back to the beginning

  992. 41:37

    so like the tension of

  993. 41:40

everybody really added to the tension of

  994. 41:43

    this fictional studio Continental

  995. 41:46

Studios that Seth Rogan just became the

  996. 41:50

head of and trying to save it like it

  997. 41:53

can't keep it from the streamers and

  998. 41:55

also the like balance between art and

  999. 41:58

um money like blockb like he he's a

  1000. 42:02

lover of film that just wants to make

  1001. 42:04

like you know Fox catcher all the time

  1002. 42:08

and they're like "You can't make it all

  1003. 42:10

the time you have to make a Kool-Aid

  1004. 42:12

movie you know?" So it's like the the

  1005. 42:14

tension between and it's Ike Baron Holtz

  1006. 42:17

is in it who's freaking hilarious he's

  1007. 42:18

so good chase Sweet Wonders Peach

  1008. 42:22

hilarious and um Brian Cranston has a a

  1009. 42:26

recording as the um the money guy on top

  1010. 42:29

of the studio and uh who do you play i

  1011. 42:32

play um the market the head of marketing

  1012. 42:36

your look is incredible it is incredible

  1013. 42:39

and I feel like there's a lot of humans

  1014. 42:42

in Hollywood that just dress label to

  1015. 42:45

label so she's just totally got a girl

  1016. 42:48

at Sachs who will bring the [ __ ] to the

  1017. 42:52

office and she tries it on at lunch has

  1018. 42:54

a tab running tab at Sachs nice and also

  1019. 42:58

probably um you know what is it delane

  1020. 43:02

that Do Street Market a lot of like

  1021. 43:04

street brands she has big nails i

  1022. 43:06

remember that right long long nails yeah

  1023. 43:09

and no personal life so it's all filling

  1024. 43:12

like a deep empty hole yes that she gets

  1025. 43:16

um that she just lives at her job and is

  1026. 43:19

it thing or can we It's weekly okay

  1027. 43:22

great i have to say overall I'm enjoying

  1028. 43:24

a more weekly thing because I feel like

  1029. 43:25

we binged too hard i do too yeah it

  1030. 43:29

gives me a headache and also makes me

  1031. 43:31

feel like a little bit sick the binging

  1032. 43:33

is too much it's too much it's too much

  1033. 43:35

    and you lose the

  1034. 43:38

Yeah swallowed it that time i was like

  1035. 43:41

three i can't do three on your podcast

  1036. 43:43

three burps yes what is wrong with me i

  1037. 43:45

just swallowed the rule of threes you

  1038. 43:48

have to do one more burp for comedy

  1039. 43:50

maybe that was the third and it was just

  1040. 43:52

I swallowed it and now it's just a hot

  1041. 43:56

people I know that listen to these

  1042. 43:58

things and they have a hard time like

  1043. 43:59

with uh whatever it's called what's the

  1044. 44:01

um the word when you don't like mouth

  1045. 44:03

sounds oh uh misophonia misophonia where

  1046. 44:07

they don't like the the the milky mouth

  1047. 44:10

sounds of people which I understand i

  1048. 44:12

understand it i The worst is when you're

  1049. 44:14

talking to someone and there's little

  1050. 44:15

white cream on the creases of their

  1051. 44:17

mouth and then when they talk you can

  1052. 44:19

hear like and you just want to be like

  1053. 44:21

slide them a glass of water you want to

  1054. 44:23

slide them and I feel like this is the

  1055. 44:24

end of our interview because where where

  1056. 44:25

are we back we're back to water we're

  1057. 44:27

back to water how badly do you have to

  1058. 44:30

    pee

  1059. 44:31

not at all i've been peeing this whole

  1060. 44:33

time oh right next time I'm going to

  1061. 44:35

wear just I don't even know how it works

  1062. 44:37

if there's an adult diaper or just a

  1063. 44:39

bucket no you just pee the thing people

  1064. 44:41

don't tell you about podcasting which I

  1065. 44:43

learned when I first started you pee

  1066. 44:45

anytime you just pee in your seat all

  1067. 44:48

    the men you're watching they're

  1068. 44:49

    constantly peeing just underneath their

  1069. 44:51

table gross there's a stadium buddy or

  1070. 44:54

have you ever seen the women's version

  1071. 44:56

of that i have it oh the way you get it

  1072. 45:00

my friend gave it it's like a funnel

  1073. 45:01

because you can be like "So it isn't

  1074. 45:05

like a straight shot." Okay keep it in

  1075. 45:06

my car okay i thought you like keep it

  1076. 45:08

in my pants i keep it I keep it in my

  1077. 45:11

    bed no it's a it's a funnel that you I

  1078. 45:14

suggest getting it you're supposed to

  1079. 45:16

use it for camping but I have it for my

  1080. 45:17

car because sometimes you're in traffic

  1081. 45:19

and it's and it's a Oh no like what and

  1082. 45:22

I can you get that going while you're

  1083. 45:24

driving a car i have never I've to be

  1084. 45:27

fair I've never actually used it oh oh

  1085. 45:29

okay but this knowing it's there i know

  1086. 45:32

that you have a backup maybe also

  1087. 45:33

sometimes if there's a questionable gas

  1088. 45:35

station restroom I would rather cop

  1089. 45:37

squat that I would rather pull over and

  1090. 45:39

pee i've done that before go to a gas

  1091. 45:41

station i've done that definitely in

  1092. 45:42

places that um met like the national

  1093. 45:46

parks where you like open the small one

  1094. 45:47

    it's just a hole yeah i just think I

  1095. 45:50

just I've just pulled over and opened up

  1096. 45:52

my car door and just peed

  1097. 45:56

i think we all have i mean what are you

  1098. 45:59

going to do what are you going to do

  1099. 46:00

seriously you can't No one wants a UTI

  1100. 46:02

and you can't be like a man and pee in a

  1101. 46:04

bottle like a like Oh my god have you

  1102. 46:07

ever been There's some streets in New

  1103. 46:09

York City i know this is getting long

  1104. 46:10

but there's some streets in New York

  1105. 46:11

that are like the like the arteries for

  1106. 46:14

getting off the bridges or whatever that

  1107. 46:15

if you walk down it's like filled Coke

  1108. 46:18

bottles with urine men are so [ __ ]

  1109. 46:21

disgusting disgusting but I have to tell

  1110. 46:22

you okay last thing sometimes Sometimes

  1111. 46:25

I'm like "Women lift up the freaking

  1112. 46:27

seat." 100% i'm like I have sat so many

  1113. 46:30

times on other women's urine women you

  1114. 46:32

cannot pee on the seat to protect your

  1115. 46:35

own germs like you can't not sit on a

  1116. 46:39

toilet seat so that I have to sit on the

  1117. 46:42

key yes lift it up it's disgusting also

  1118. 46:46

if you're really that weird about it put

  1119. 46:49

toilet paper on the seat they have

  1120. 46:51

things for you they have things don't

  1121. 46:54

squat on the seat pee on it and then

  1122. 46:56

leave and then leave you know what women

  1123. 46:58

are disgusting too or wipe it off with a

  1124. 47:01

And you're like I know you just tried to

  1125. 47:02

wipe it off but it's still there [ __ ]

  1126. 47:05

you're talking to a gal who left signs

  1127. 47:08

in a in a uh when I think it must have

  1128. 47:10

been when I was at SNL i was like who is

  1129. 47:13

peeing on this seat yes i was like "Hey

  1130. 47:16

news flash this is a disaster for those

  1131. 47:19

that fall a restroom for a lot of

  1132. 47:21

women." Yeah well last thing growing up

  1133. 47:24

in Cleveland we had faulty um what's it

  1134. 47:28

called you know when you flush a toilet

  1135. 47:31

    plumbing

  1136. 47:35

ah age but my dad had a sign above the

  1137. 47:38

toilet that said poop flush wipe

  1138. 47:41

flush cuz if you put the poop and the

  1139. 47:45

and the toilet paper in there would

  1140. 47:46

    overflow immediately flush white flush

  1141. 47:48

poop flush white flush i'm going to

  1142. 47:49

leave you with that anyho but I these

  1143. 47:52

are I think these are important things

  1144. 47:53

to say they are they are they are we

  1145. 47:56

don't talk about it but these are But

  1146. 47:58

also just women lastly lift up the seat

  1147. 48:01

name you don't have to and You don't

  1148. 48:04

have to lift yeah don't just sit on the

  1149. 48:06

seat sit on it sit on it if you don't

  1150. 48:08

feel like sitting on it lift it sit on

  1151. 48:10

the seats sit on the seat what like

  1152. 48:13

where are we that's why they just Where

  1153. 48:15

are we you're so lucky to have a seat

  1154. 48:18

there's a lot of people that just have

  1155. 48:19

to squat if someone ran for like

  1156. 48:22

Congress and their whole thing was sit

  1157. 48:24

on the seat they'd win they'd win they'd

  1158. 48:27

win they would win sit on the seat i'm

  1159. 48:29

going to start making bumper stickers

  1160. 48:31

okay the I'm asking I'm asking a bunch

  1161. 48:33

of people cuz you love to laugh and you

  1162. 48:34

have a great laugh i'm asking a bunch of

  1163. 48:36

people what are they doing right now to

  1164. 48:38

make themselves laugh like what is the

  1165. 48:40

thing you're watching or doing or

  1166. 48:42

listening to what cracks you up um my

  1167. 48:47

dog really cracks me up he's such a

  1168. 48:50

little wenus everything his name is

  1169. 48:53

Banjo and he's such an idiot he has a

  1170. 48:56

He's such a mut and he has his tail

  1171. 48:58

that's always so high he's got a really

  1172. 48:59

    aggressive

  1173. 49:01

[ __ ] and everything he does is so

  1174. 49:05

stupid that he makes me laugh so hard

  1175. 49:07

he's a dingo like everything he does

  1176. 49:11

like he'll walk he'll get outside and

  1177. 49:12

he'll like do laughs like back and forth

  1178. 49:14

as fast as he can from one side of the

  1179. 49:15

    lawn to the other

finish by going to the club with uh a

  1239. 51:55

little Rihanna uh we found love in a
